Laurel Heights UMC welcomed a new Wesley Nurse in April of 2011. But Christina Galvan is not new to Laurel Heights. She was first introduced to LHUMC through her community class while pursuing her RN, BSN degree at The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. She also did clinicals under our previous Wesley Nurse, Elizabeth Woods. "I fell in love with community nursing and Laurel Heights during that time" Christina recalls.
At UT Health Science Center Christina was a member of Sigma Theta Tau International, an honor society for nursing program students. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from UT Health Science Center in December 2009. The following month Christina began working as an RN at the main Methodist Hospital in the medical/surgical unit. She worked there for a little over a year before hearing about the opening at Laurel Heights and "jumping on the opportunity".
Christina became an LVN in 2004, working in a family practice, a nursing home and a pediatric clinic. She is originally from Seguin, Texas.
Stop by and get acquainted with Christina. Her office is on first floor at the Woodlawn entry, next to the Super Adult office. You can also reach her at 733-7156 ext. 37. Click here to email the Wesley Nurse.
